An evolution has quietly been occurring in the world of parenting. Recent surveys reveal that millions of children have found loving homes either by being born to, or adopted by, gay men. This book is a celebration of these remarkable new families.
The book includes twenty-five personal accounts from men describing their unique journeys to fatherhood and the struggles and successes they have experienced as they raise their children. This is the first book to provide such an expansive exploration of this extraordinary new family unit. With beautiful black-and-white photographs of each of the families, Gay Dads is a moving tribute to familial love.
An Orphan No More
An Orphan No More: The True Story of a Boy: chapter one celebrates the concept that love is love. Rodney has long dreamed of being a parent. Although he is told that he cannot be a parent alone, fate has much more in store. Rodney discovers that a selfless act of protection actually becomes his first step toward fatherhood. Little Jordy, an orphaned duckling, has discoveries of his own: he learns the meaning of love, of family, and what it's like to feel the pain of being different. Through a bedtime story, Jordy learns of his namesake, a little boy named Jordan, who was also orphaned as a baby. Will similar beginnings lead to similar fates? Only time will tell.
Olympic diving hopeful Jordan Windle and his two dads Jerry & Andres live in North Carolina. They visited West Hollywood on May 7, 2016 and did a special reading of their new children's book, "An Orphan No More: The True Story of a Boy." The West Hollywood City Council presented Jordan with a commendation and his mentor Olympic diver Greg Louganis was in attendance.
